PAX dropped the app on the Plus and put four named modes on the device instead, which most owners find quicker than reaching for a phone. Stealth sits lowest at roughly 360 to 380°F and keeps both vapour and LED brightness down. Efficiency, around 380 to 400°F, gets the most out of a load. Flavour runs 400 to 420°F. Boost goes to about 464°F, which is the range you want for concentrate.

That top end is the real difference from a PAX 3. The Plus reaches higher, and it is ready in about 22 seconds from the same 0.35 to 0.5 g oven. A 3300 mAh battery covers two hours or more, with lip sensing and a motion sensor handling standby so it is not heating an empty room.

This is the starter kit, so what you get is the device, both mouthpieces, the oven lid, an oven screen, a wire brush and the USB cable. The concentrate insert, the multi-tool, the half pack lid and the spare screens belong to the Complete Kit. The insert is the one that matters: without it the Plus is a flower vaporizer, and Boost mode exists largely for concentrate. It fits and it is sold separately, so this kit plus the insert gets you to the same place.

The warranty is the quiet argument for the Plus over almost anything else here. Ten years, limited, with nothing to register.

Frequently asked questions

What are the four Experience Modes and which should I use?

Stealth is lowest, roughly 360 to 380°F, and keeps vapour and the LED discreet. Efficiency sits around 380 to 400°F and extracts the most from a load. Flavour runs 400 to 420°F for taste over cloud size. Boost reaches about 464°F, which is where you want to be for concentrate or if you want visible vapour. You cycle them on the device, no phone needed.

What is in the Basic Kit and what is missing?

You get the PAX Plus, both mouthpieces, the oven lid, an oven screen, a wire brush and the USB cable. What the Complete Kit adds is the concentrate insert, the multi-tool, the half pack oven lid and three spare screens. The insert is the significant one, because without it the Plus only handles flower.

Can I add concentrate use to this kit later?

Yes. The PAX Concentrate Insert fits the Plus and we stock it separately. It is a sealed metal cup that takes a small amount of wax and drops into the same oven, so nothing runs into the device. Run it on Boost. Buying the Basic Kit and adding the insert when you want it is a perfectly reasonable route, though the Complete Kit works out cheaper if you know you want both.

PAX Plus or PAX 3, which should I get?

The PAX 3 has Bluetooth so you can dial an exact temperature. The Plus drops the app for four named modes on the device and reaches higher, up to about 464°F against the PAX 3's 420. Both heat in around 22 seconds, share the same oven, take the same insert and carry the same ten year warranty. Pick the 3 for precise control, the Plus for a higher ceiling and no phone.

Do PAX 2 and PAX 3 accessories fit the Plus?

Mostly yes. Flat and raised mouthpieces, oven screens, the standard oven lid, the multi-tool and the magnetic charger are shared across the PAX 2, PAX 3, PAX Mini and PAX Plus, so anything from those lines fits. The concentrate insert works on the PAX 3 and Plus only. The newer Flow and Four are the exceptions and do not share these parts.

Can I get the Basic Kit delivered the same day in Vancouver?

We do. Same-day across Greater Vancouver on orders between 8 AM and 10 PM, generally arriving within 45 to 60 minutes, and next day on anything after 10 PM. Canada-wide shipping goes out in discreet packaging. If you are weighing it against the PAX 3, both are on the shelf at Commercial Drive to compare in person.
