PAX position the Four as the biggest hitter they make, and they put a number on it: 50 percent more vapour production than any other device they sell, the Flow and the Plus included. That comes from a high output hybrid heater and a redesigned oven with a refined lid that lets more air through.
Four heat modes with patented temperature control, and an auto shutoff that steps in when the device reaches sustained high temperatures. That second part is worth reading properly. A vaporizer built to run this hard needs a limit, and the Four will stop rather than keep climbing, which is sensible engineering rather than a fault to work around.
Runtime is where the trade shows up. PAX quote up to five sessions or 50 minutes on a charge, which is less than the older conduction devices manage, because pushing that much vapour costs power. It charges over USB-C. If you vape all day away from a plug, this is the wrong PAX and the Plus or the 3 is a better fit.
One compatibility point that catches people: the Four does not take the PAX Concentrate Insert. PAX say so directly. PAX rate it at 50 percent more than the rest of their range, which covers the PAX 2, PAX 3, PAX Plus, PAX Mini and PAX Flow. Can I use concentrates in a PAX Four?
No. PAX state the Four is not compatible with the PAX Concentrate Insert, so unlike the PAX 3 and PAX Plus there is no accessory that adds concentrate use. It is a flower device by design. Why is the battery life shorter than on other PAX devices?
Because pushing 50 percent more vapour costs power. PAX quote up to five sessions or 50 minutes of run time per charge, where the conduction devices stretch to a couple of hours. It is a straight trade rather than a flaw, but it does mean the Four suits sessions at home better than a full day out. It charges over USB-C.
What is the auto shutoff doing?
It shuts the device down when it reaches sustained high temperatures. On a vaporizer built to run this hard that is a deliberate limit rather than a fault, and it protects both the electronics and your material. If yours cuts out during a long heavy session, that is the protection working. Let it cool and it will start again normally.
Do my PAX 3 accessories fit the Four?
Treat them as separate. The Four has a redesigned oven and lid, and the concentrate insert is explicitly not supported. Rather than guessing from the shared PAX name, check a specific part with us before ordering it.
