This is the 2021 revision of the Crafty+, and the two changes are the ones people kept asking for. It charges over USB-C instead of micro USB, which fills it roughly 25 minutes faster and means one less cable in the bag. The filling chamber is ceramic coated rather than aluminum, so it stains less and cleans up properly over time. Nothing else changed. Same 135 gram body, same single button, same hybrid convection and conduction heating, and the same 104 to 410°F range that you set in the S&B app over Bluetooth. Heat-up is still about a minute to 356°F. If you are choosing between this and the earlier Crafty+, there is no difference in how it vapes, only in how you charge it and how easy the chamber is to keep clean. Made in Germany. How do you use the Crafty+ USB-C?
Load the chamber with ground herb and press the single button. It reaches 356°F in about a minute, then you draw slowly. For anything more precise, pair it with the Storz & Bickel app over Bluetooth and set an exact temperature from 104 to 410°F, adjust the booster, or check the battery level.
Do you need the app to use it?
Not to vape. The button on its own runs a full session at the default temperature. The app is how you change that temperature and tune the booster, so it matters if you care about running cooler for flavour or hotter for thicker vapour. Plenty of owners never open it.
Crafty+ USB-C or Mighty+, which should I get?
The Crafty+ USB-C is the portable one at 135 grams, controlled by one button and the app. The Mighty+ is bigger, has a display and controls on the device, runs 60 to 90 minutes per charge, and heats in about the same minute. Both are made in Germany and share the hybrid convection and conduction heating, so vapour quality is close. Take the Crafty+ if it is going in a pocket, the Mighty+ if you want longer sessions and no phone involved.
How do you clean the Crafty+ USB-C?
Take the cooling unit apart following the manual, soak the parts in isopropyl alcohol, rinse and dry them completely, then put it back together. The ceramic coated chamber is the upgrade here, a brush while it is still slightly warm keeps it looking new far longer than the aluminum version did. Screens and seal rings wear out with use and are available as genuine spares.
