The Dr. Greenthumb's edition puts the V3 infuser in a deep olive green anodized finish, which is a quieter piece than the gold Taylor Gang and reads more like an object than a statement. Clear globes against green metal, and the same machined frame underneath.
The mechanism is unchanged from every other V3. Water sits in the lower globe, you rotate the whole assembly through 360 degrees, and as the water falls it displaces air backwards through the bowl. That pushes smoke out of the rotatable mouthpiece in a controlled stream, so you take it without ever pulling on the device. It runs through water on the way, which is what takes the edge off.
What the V3 changed over the older generations is worth knowing if you are comparing against a used one.
