The original Hit gave you two fixed session lengths and no say in the temperature. The Hit 2 gives you the temperature, anywhere from 200 to 480°F, and that single change is the reason to pick it over the older model. On dry herb the difference between a draw that tastes of the flower and one that tastes scorched is often ten or fifteen degrees, which a two-button timer cannot reach.
Heating is still convection through a ceramic oven, which is what separated the Hit from Yocan's pen-style devices in the first place. Hot air is pulled through the load rather than the herb being pressed against a hot wall, so the bowl cooks evenly top to bottom and the flavour holds up further into a session.
The battery goes from 1400 to 1800 mAh, the largest Yocan put in a portable dry herb device, and the small monochrome screen becomes a colour LCD showing temperature and charge at a glance. It charges over USB-C in about two hours and shuts itself off after half an hour if you walk away from it.
If you have not used a dry herb vaporizer before, start around 375°F and work up. One thing to know before you buy spares: the Hit 2 mouthpiece is not the same part as the original Hit's, so a replacement bought for the older model will not fit.

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the Yocan Hit and the Hit 2?
The original Hit has no temperature setting at all. It runs a fixed three or five minute session and stops. The Hit 2 lets you set any temperature between 200 and 480°F, which is the whole reason to choose it. The battery also goes from 1400 to 1800 mAh and the monochrome screen becomes a colour LCD. Both are convection devices with a ceramic oven.
Will my original Hit mouthpiece fit the Hit 2?
No. Yocan changed the part between the two generations and sell a separate Hit 2 replacement mouthpiece, so a spare bought for the older Hit will not fit this device. It is worth knowing before you order spares, because the two look similar in photographs. We stock both, as separate listings, so check that a spare is named for the Hit 2 before you order.
What temperature should I start at?
Around 375°F is a sensible starting point on almost any dry herb vaporizer. It is warm enough for a full, flavour-led draw without pushing the herb towards scorching, and you can work up from there once you know what you prefer. Lower settings give you more taste and thinner vapour; higher settings give you denser vapour and a harsher draw.
Why does convection matter on a dry herb device?
Conduction presses the herb against a hot surface, so whatever touches the wall cooks first while the middle of the bowl lags behind. Convection pulls heated air through the load instead, so it vaporizes evenly and the flavour lasts further into the session. It is why the Hit and Hit 2 draw better on dry herb than any of Yocan's pen-style vaporizers.
How do I keep it working well?
Brush the oven out with the included brush while it is still slightly warm, because residue lifts far more easily then than once it has cooled and hardened. Do not pack the chamber tight either. Convection needs air to move through the load, and an over-packed oven chokes the airflow and gives a weak draw that feels like a fault with the device.
Can I get the Yocan Hit 2 delivered in Vancouver today?
