Most dry herb vaporizers at this price give you three or four preset temperatures and ask you to live with them. The Vane does not. It runs from 200 all the way to 480°F and you set the number yourself with plus and minus buttons, reading it off a small OLED screen. That matters more than it sounds: the difference between a flavourful draw and a harsh one on dry herb is often ten or fifteen degrees, and a preset list rarely lands where you actually want to be.

Heating is conduction into a ceramic chamber, so the herb sits against the hot surface rather than having hot air pulled through it. It reaches temperature in about thirty seconds and vibrates to tell you, which saves watching the display.

If you have not used a dry herb vaporizer before, start somewhere around 375°F. That is usually warm enough for a smooth, flavour-led draw without pushing the herb towards scorching, and you can work up from there once you know what you like.

The mouthpiece is magnetic, so it pulls off for loading and cleaning instead of unscrewing. It is a wear item and we stock replacements in five packs. Charging is USB-C, and the whole thing is 3.1 inches tall with the mouthpiece on.

Frequently asked questions

What temperature should I actually set it to?

If you are new to dry herb, start around 375°F. That is usually warm enough for a smooth, flavourful draw without pushing the herb towards scorching. Lower settings in the 350s bring out more taste and less vapour; going up towards 430 and beyond gives thicker draws but a harsher one. Work up in small steps and stop where it tastes right to you.

Does it have preset temperatures?

No, and that is the point of it. Instead of cycling three or four fixed settings you set the exact number with the plus and minus buttons and read it off the OLED screen. The usable range is 200 to 480°F. On dry herb the difference between a good draw and a harsh one is often only ten or fifteen degrees, which a preset list tends to skip straight over.

Why does it buzz?

It vibrates to tell you the chamber has reached the temperature you set, which takes about thirty seconds from cold. It saves you standing there watching the display waiting for a number to settle. Some devices use a flashing light for the same job; a short buzz is easier to notice when the vaporizer is in your pocket or on a table.

Is this conduction or convection?

Conduction. The herb sits directly against a heated ceramic chamber rather than having hot air drawn through it. Conduction heats faster and costs less to build, which is why a device at this price uses it. The practical difference is that you should give the chamber a gentle stir partway through a session so the load toasts evenly rather than just at the bottom.

What do I need to replace over time?

The mouthpiece, mainly. It is magnetic so it pulls straight off, and it takes the resin and the handling, so it is the part that gets tired first. We stock them in five packs. Beyond that it is cleaning rather than replacing: brush the chamber out while it is still slightly warm and the ceramic stays much easier to keep clear.
