The 723 runs convection, which means hot air passes through your herb rather than the chamber wall cooking it. The practical difference is even extraction and less of the toasted taste you get when conduction runs too hot.
Four presets sit at 356°F, 374°F, 392°F and 410°F. They are spaced ten degrees Celsius apart on purpose, low for taste and high for a fuller draw, and boost mode takes it to 437°F when you want to finish a bowl properly.
One button does all of it. On, off, temperature, boost. There is nothing to learn and nothing to accidentally change in a pocket.
A wax canister is included, so the same convection heat can handle concentrate when you want it to. The 2300mAh battery gives around an hour of use, which works out to six to eight sessions, and charges over USB-C in about 90 minutes.

What is the difference between the Utillian 722 and the 723?
The 723 simplified the controls down to a single button, where the 722 used more, and it carries four preset temperatures plus a boost mode rather than the 722's arrangement. Convection heating and the included wax canister continue across both. The single button is genuinely the headline change: nothing gets altered by accident in a pocket.
When should I use boost mode?
At the end of a bowl. The four presets top out at 410°F, and boost takes it to 437°F, which is hot enough to pull what is left out of herb that has already given up most of its vapour on the lower settings. Starting a fresh bowl on boost wastes it, since you get the harshest draw and burn off the terpenes first.
Which temperature should I start at?
356°F for flavour. That is where terpenes come through most clearly and the vapour stays light. 374°F and 392°F are the everyday middle ground. 410°F gives the thickest draw but a noticeably harsher one. A good habit is starting a bowl low and stepping up through the presets as it depletes, rather than picking one and staying there.
Does the wax canister actually work well?
For occasional concentrate use, yes. You load the canister, place it in the chamber and run the device normally, and convection heat suits concentrate better than a hot chamber wall does. It will not match a dedicated e-rig like the Utillian 8 for density or flavour. Treat it as a useful extra on a herb vaporizer rather than a two-in-one replacement for both devices.
How many sessions do I get per charge?
Around six to eight, which works out to roughly 60 minutes of active use. Running at 410°F and boost pulls that down, since higher temperatures draw more current. A flat battery takes about 90 minutes to refill over USB-C.
