Buying the PAX Plus as the Complete Kit is the version that makes sense if you already know you want to do more than pack a full oven of flower. The standard kit gives you the device, both mouthpieces, one oven lid, a screen, a brush and a cable. The Complete Kit adds the concentrate insert, the half pack oven lid, the multi-tool and a set of three oven screens, which are the four things most people end up buying separately anyway.
The device itself runs four Experience Modes rather than numbered temperatures. Stealth sits lowest at roughly 360 to 380°F and keeps vapour and LED brightness down. Efficiency, around 380 to 400°F, is the one that gets the most out of a load. Flavour runs 400 to 420°F. Boost goes highest, up to about 464°F, which is where you want to be for concentrates. It is ready in about 22 seconds.
The oven takes 0.35 to 0.5 g, or 0.17 to 0.25 g with the half pack lid fitted, and that lid is the piece that makes solo sessions work properly: it fills the empty space so a smaller load still sits packed against the oven floor instead of rattling loose. The concentrate insert seals a lentil-sized amount of wax in a metal cup that loads from underneath, so nothing runs into the device.
A 3300 mAh battery covers two hours or more. Lip sensing and a motion sensor handle the standby behaviour, and PAX backs it with a 10 year limited warranty, which is unusual at any price in this category.

PAX Plus or PAX 3, what is the actual difference?
The PAX 3 has Bluetooth and a phone app, so you can set an exact temperature. The Plus drops the app and gives you four named modes on the device instead, which most people find quicker in practice. Both heat in about 22 seconds, both take the concentrate insert and both share the same oven. Choose the PAX 3 if you want to dial in a specific number, the Plus if you would rather press a button.
How does the PAX Plus compare with the PAX Mini?
The Mini is the small, simple one: a 0.25 g oven, a single automatic heat mode and flower only. Can the PAX Plus vaporize concentrates?
Yes, using the concentrate insert, which is in this kit. A lentil-sized amount of wax goes into the metal cup, the lid seals it and the insert loads into the oven from the bottom so nothing leaks into the device. Boost mode is the setting for it. The O-rings on the insert are a wear item and harden over heat cycles, so expect to replace those before anything else.
