The PAX 2 is the model that fixed most of what people complained about in the original. It is a quarter smaller and about ten percent lighter, the oven seals better, and the anodised shell stopped picking up fingerprints the way the first one did. Ten years on it is still a competent conduction vaporizer, and it is the cheapest way into the PAX oven and accessory system.
Four temperatures, set by holding the mouthpiece down: 360, 380, 400 and 420°F. The petal LEDs go purple while it heats and green when it is ready, which takes about 45 seconds. The oven takes 0.35 to 0.5 g of ground herb and it wants to be packed firmly, because conduction heats by contact and a loose pack gives you a thin draw.
Two sensors do the thinking. Lip sensing wakes the heater when you actually put your mouth on it, and a motion sensor drops it into standby when you set it down. That combination is why a PAX 2 stretches to roughly 90 minutes of use rather than burning through the battery while it sits on a table.
What you give up against the PAX 3 and PAX Plus is concentrate compatibility, the faster 22-second heat-up, and any way to run something between the four presets. If you only vape flower and you want the simplest version of this device, none of that matters much.

What is the difference between the PAX 2 and the PAX 3?
The PAX 3 heats in about 22 seconds against the PAX 2's 45, pairs with a phone app so you can set any temperature rather than picking one of four, and takes the concentrate insert. The PAX 2 is flower only. Both share the same oven size and the same accessories, so mouthpieces, lids and screens move between them. The PAX 2 is the cheaper way in if you do not want the app or concentrates.
How does the PAX 2 compare with the PAX Plus?
The Plus is the newer device. It heats in about 22 seconds, runs four named Experience Modes covering a wider band up to 464°F, takes a concentrate insert and carries a 10 year warranty against the PAX 2's two. The PAX 2 gives you four fixed flower temperatures and nothing else. If you want the modes and concentrate use, go up to the Plus. If you want a straightforward flower vape, the PAX 2 still does the job.
PAX 2 or PAX Mini, which one should I get?
The Mini is smaller and simpler: a 0.25 g oven and one automatic heat mode with nothing to set. The PAX 2 has the larger 0.35 to 0.5 g oven and four temperatures you choose yourself. Pick the Mini if you want to press one button, and the PAX 2 if you care about running your flower cooler for flavour or hotter for vapour.
What are the four temperature settings and which one should I use?
360, 380, 400 and 420°F. Lower settings give thinner vapour and more of the flavour, higher settings give visible clouds and get through the load faster. A common approach is to start a fresh pack at 360 or 380 and step up as it depletes, which spreads the material out rather than scorching it early. Hold the mouthpiece down to cycle through the four.
Which accessories fit the PAX 2?
Flat and raised mouthpieces, oven screens, the standard oven lid, the multi-tool and the magnetic charger are all shared with the PAX 3, PAX Mini and PAX Plus, so any of those fit. The concentrate insert does not: that is PAX 3 and PAX Plus only. The Half Pack Oven Lid does fit the PAX 2 and gives you a smaller 0.17 to 0.25 g load.
Can I get a PAX 2 delivered in Vancouver today?
