The ARI 2.0 Plus is the one to buy if a cart battery keeps dying on you halfway through the day. It is 900 mAh, more than double the Mini, and everything else about it is the same: voltage adjustable from 1.8 to 4.2 volts in tenth of a volt steps, an OLED screen showing what you have set, how much charge is left and how many draws you have taken.
The extra capacity costs you some pocketability. It is 17 mm across and 97 mm long against the Mini's 14 by 80, so it reads more as a small pen than a slim one. It charges over USB-C in about an hour and twelve minutes.
Fine voltage control is the real reason to pick an ARI over a cheaper three-setting battery. Cartridge viscosity varies a lot, and the difference between a clean draw and a scorched one is often a couple of tenths of a volt. Being able to set an exact number and return to it means you can dial a cart in once and leave it.
The usual protections are there: a ten second preheat at 1.8 volts for a cart that has stiffened up, a fifteen second cut-off if the button stays down, and an automatic shutdown after an hour idle. As with the rest of the ARI range, no charging cable is supplied.

Frequently asked questions
Is there a charging cable in the box?
There is not. Yocan supply the ARI 2.0 Plus on its own, with no cable and nothing else. It takes an ordinary USB-C cable, the same kind most phones and laptops use now, so it is easily solved, but it is worth knowing in advance rather than opening the box and finding out. We flag this on every Yocan battery that ships this way.
How much longer does 900 mAh actually last?
Roughly twice as long as the 400 mAh Mini, though it depends heavily on the voltage you run and how long your draws are. A battery used at 2.5 volts will go considerably further than the same one at 4. As a rough guide, the Plus is the size where most people stop thinking about charging during the day rather than partway through it.
Mini, standard or Plus?
Yocan make the ARI 2.0 in 400, 650 and 900 mAh. We stock the 400 mAh Mini and this 900 mAh Plus. The electronics are identical across all three, so this is purely a decision about capacity against size. The Mini is 14 x 80 mm and slips into anything; the Plus is 17 x 97 mm and lasts much longer between charges.
What does the preheat setting do to a cartridge?
It runs the cart at a low 1.8 volts for ten seconds, which warms thickened oil enough to flow properly without vaporizing it hard. It is most useful in winter or if a cart has been sitting somewhere cold, where a normal draw would otherwise pull almost nothing through. On a warm, already fluid cartridge you do not need it at all.
Will it fit every 510 cartridge?
It takes standard 510 thread cartridges, which covers the large majority of what is sold. The thing to watch on any cart battery is not the thread but the width and height of the cart itself, since an unusually wide one can sit awkwardly. If you are ordering carts and a battery together, check the cart's diameter before you commit.
Do you run same-day delivery on this across Vancouver?
We do. Anything ordered from 8 AM up to 10 PM reaches you the same day across Greater Vancouver, with most deliveries arriving in a 45 to 60 minute window. After 10 PM your order is sent out next day. Canada-wide shipping is discreet, and the Commercial Drive shop has them in stock for pickup.
