Round batteries roll. The Flat is square, 15 mm on each side, so it stays where you put it and lies flat in a pocket. This is the original Flat in its standard 650 mAh size, and it's simpler than the Flat 2.0 Mini and Plus we also stock.
The difference is in the controls. The Flat has three fixed voltages, 2.6, 3.2 and 3.8 V, switched with three quick presses of the square button, and no screen. The Flat 2.0 adds an OLED screen and lets you set anything from 1.8 to 4.2 V in tenths, in a stainless steel body. If your carts behave at one of three settings, the extra control isn't doing much for you.
A double press runs a 10 second preheat at 1.8 V for a cartridge that has thickened in the cold, and a 15 second cut-off stops it firing indefinitely. The body is aluminium with a rubberised finish, 84 mm long and 32 g. It charges over USB-C, and no cable is included.

Frequently asked questions
How is the Flat different from the Flat 2.0?
The shape is the same idea, a square body that does not roll, but the controls are not. This original Flat has three preset voltages and no screen. The Flat 2.0 has an OLED screen, voltage you set in tenths from 1.8 to 4.2 V, a puff counter and a stainless steel body. The Flat is the simpler and lighter of the two.
Which voltage setting should I use?
Start on 2.6 V, the lowest, with any new cartridge. It gives the most flavour and makes the oil last longer. Step up to 3.2 V if the draw feels thin, and keep 3.8 V for thick oil that will not move at lower power. Running a thin cart at the top setting is the quickest way to a burnt taste.
How do I switch settings and use the preheat?
With the battery on, press the button three times quickly to move to the next voltage. Press it twice to start a 10 second preheat at 1.8 V, which warms a cartridge that has gone stiff in the cold so the first pull does not come through thin. Hold the button while you draw to fire it.
Does it come with a charger?
No. Yocan pack the Flat as bare batteries in a shop display, so there is no box and no cable with it. It charges from any USB-C cable, the same kind most phones use now, and we carry Yocan's 4 ft Type-C cable if you need one. Have one ready for when it arrives.
Will it fit my cartridge?
It takes standard 510 thread cartridges with a resistance above 0.8 ohm, which covers the large majority of oil carts sold. The cart screws onto the top and sits above the body rather than inside it, so wide carts are not a problem the way they can be on a concealed battery like the Ziva.
Is same-day delivery available for the Yocan Flat?
It is. Anything ordered from 8 AM up to 10 PM reaches you the same day in Greater Vancouver, typically in 45 to 60 minutes. Later orders are delivered the next day. Across the rest of Canada we ship in discreet packaging, and you can pick one up at our Commercial Drive store, which never closes.
