Most 510 batteries give you three or four fixed voltages and a coloured light. The Rhotron Pro gives you a dial. Voltage runs from 1.6V to 4.2V in 0.1V steps, so you can settle on the exact setting a particular cartridge likes instead of choosing between two that are nearly right.
The OLED is the other reason to pick it. It shows the voltage you have set, the battery level, your puff count, and the resistance of whatever cartridge is attached, which tells you straight away whether a cart is within a sensible range before you fire it.
A 15 second preheat runs the coil at low power for thick oil that will not draw.
The 400mAh battery fills over USB-C in about an hour. The body is polycarbonate with a rubberised coating, and it wipes clean with alcohol.

Frequently asked questions
What voltage should I use for my cartridge?
Start low. Around 2.4V to 2.8V suits most modern oil carts and preserves flavour. Move up in 0.1V steps until the draw feels right. Above roughly 3.5V you will get more vapour but you risk burning a light oil and shortening the cart's coil life. If you taste anything scorched, drop it back down.
What does the resistance reading on the screen tell me?
It shows the ohm rating of whatever cartridge is currently attached. That matters because resistance determines how much power a given voltage actually delivers, so two carts at the same voltage can behave very differently. It also flags a problem: a wildly wrong or missing reading usually means a bad connection or a dead cart rather than a faulty battery.
What is the difference between the Rhotron and the Rhotron Pro?
The original Rhotron gives you four preset voltages. The Pro replaces those with variable voltage from 1.6V to 4.2V in 0.1V steps and adds the OLED, which shows resistance and puff count as well as voltage and battery. If you run one cart type and are happy with it, the original is enough. If you switch between carts, the Pro earns its extra cost.
When should I use the preheat?
Thick oil that will not move: a cold room, a cart left overnight, or a distillate that has gone solid. The 15 second preheat runs the coil at reduced power without you drawing, softening the oil enough to pull properly. It is a better answer than firing it on maximum voltage, which scorches the oil instead of warming it.
What does it mean if the screen shows no resistance?
The Rhotron Pro reads the coil, so a missing or wild resistance figure tells you the cartridge is not connecting properly rather than that the battery has failed. Unscrew it, wipe the threads and the centre pin with a dry swab and refit it gently. A cart screwed in too hard can flatten the pin and break contact. If the reading returns on a different cartridge, the original one is done.
Can I get one delivered same day in Vancouver?
Yes. Order between 8 AM and 10 PM and it goes out the same day across Greater Vancouver, often arriving within 45 to 60 minutes. Anything later ships next day, and we deliver Canada-wide in discreet packaging.
