The Regen's useful idea is that it does not make you choose a coil before you have tried one. Both go in the box: a quartz dual coil with two rods, and a quartz tri coil with three rods each wrapped in titanium wire. Two rods is the lighter, more flavour-led draw. Three gives you more heated surface, a denser cloud and a load that goes faster. Most pens sell you one and leave you guessing.
Three voltages sit behind the button at 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 volts, shown by the colour of the LED so you can see where you are without counting clicks. Combined with two coils that gives six usable setups, which is a lot of range on a pen at this price.
Connections are magnetic throughout, including the mouthpiece, so taking it apart to load or clean is a pull rather than a twist. A 2 ml silicone jar is built into the base for carrying your concentrate, and there is a removable hanging ring if you want to carry it on something.
A fifteen second automatic cut-off stops the coil if the button is held down, which protects the quartz and the cell. That is a safety feature rather than a fault.

Frequently asked questions
Which of the two coils should I start with?
Start with the quartz dual coil. Two rods heat a smaller area, so the draw is lighter, the flavour comes through more clearly and a load lasts longer. Move to the tri coil when you want a bigger, denser hit and do not mind getting through concentrate faster. Having both in the box means the comparison costs you nothing but a coil swap.
What do the LED colours mean?
They show which of the three voltages you are on, so you can tell at a glance instead of counting clicks. The settings are 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 volts. Lower runs the quartz cooler and preserves flavour, higher produces more vapour and works through the load faster. Three clicks moves you between them while the pen is switched on.
Why does it stop after about fifteen seconds?
That is a deliberate cut-off, not a fault. Holding the button on a quartz coil past fifteen seconds risks overheating the rods and stressing the battery, so the pen stops firing on its own. If you want a longer draw, release and press again. Almost every wax pen of this type has some version of the same limit.
Are the coils the same as other Yocan pens?
No. The Regen takes its own quartz coils and we stock the tri coil in five packs. Coils from the Evolve Plus or the Armor will not serve as substitutes. Replace one when the taste turns burnt, when the rods look blackened, or when a full battery is not producing what it used to. The swap is magnetic and takes seconds.
What is the silicone jar for?
It is a 2 ml container built into the base of the battery for carrying your concentrate with the pen. Silicone is used because wax releases from it cleanly instead of sticking, so you can recover the last of a load. It means you are carrying one object rather than a pen plus a separate tin that ends up somewhere else.
Do you deliver the Yocan Regen in the Vancouver area?
