The Magneto's whole design follows from one decision: the coil attaches magnetically instead of threading in. Wax pen coils are the part you handle most and the part that is always slightly sticky, so removing a thread from that job takes most of the annoyance out of a coil change. It drops in and holds.
The coil itself is ceramic rather than quartz. Ceramic heats more gradually and holds temperature more evenly once it is there, which is easier on the concentrate and produces a smoother, less harsh draw than quartz gives you. Quartz is the faster, harder-hitting option; ceramic is the one to pick if you find quartz sharp.
The cap does two jobs. A silicone jar is moulded into it for carrying your concentrate, and the dab tool is built into the cap itself, so the thing you always mislay is attached to the pen. In practice that means the Magneto is a single object you can pick up and use, with nothing else to find first.
A 1100 mAh battery sits underneath, charging over Micro-USB. Coils and caps are stocked together as replacements, which is the right pairing since the cap takes as much handling as the coil does.

Frequently asked questions
Why a magnetic coil instead of a threaded one?
Because the coil is the part you take out most, and on a wax pen it is always a bit sticky. Threading a warm, tacky coil back into a warm pen is the fiddliest thing about owning one. A magnet removes that entirely: the coil drops in and holds itself. It also means you can pull a coil out mid-session to check it without unscrewing anything.
Is a ceramic coil better than a quartz one?
Neither is better, they behave differently. Quartz heats fast and hits hard, which gives you a big draw quickly but can taste sharp. Ceramic takes longer to come up and then holds a steadier temperature, so the draw is smoother and gentler on the throat. If quartz pens have felt harsh to you, the Magneto's ceramic coil is the reason to try this one.
Where is the dab tool?
Built into the cap. Unscrew the cap and the tool is part of it, so the pen, your concentrate and the thing you load it with are all one object. There is also a silicone jar moulded into the same cap. It is a small idea that makes a real difference if you have ever got somewhere and realised the tool stayed at home.
What do I replace when it stops performing?
The coil, and usually the cap with it, which is why we stock them together. A coil is finished when the taste goes burnt, when the ceramic looks visibly darkened, or when output drops while the battery is still full. The cap wears because it takes the heat and all the handling. Replacing both at once restores the pen to how it started.
How is this different from the Evolve Plus?
Three things. The Magneto uses a ceramic coil where the Evolve Plus uses quartz, so it draws smoother and slower. Its coil is magnetic rather than threaded. And its silicone jar and dab tool live in the cap instead of the base. Both are 1100 mAh. Choose on coil material and on whether a built-in tool matters to you.
Is same-day delivery available for the Magneto in Vancouver?
It is. Place an order between 8 AM and 10 PM and we deliver across Greater Vancouver the same day, typically within 45 to 60 minutes of ordering. Orders after 10 PM go out the next day instead. Canada-wide shipping is discreet, and the Magneto is also on the shelf at our Commercial Drive location.
