The Era Life is the smallest and simplest device PAX make. It is a battery for PAX Era pods and nothing else, 10mm shorter than the rest of the Era line, wrapped in aluminium and thin enough to vanish in a pocket.
Read this part before you buy: PAX Era pods are cannabis products and we do not sell them. They come from licensed cannabis retail, not from a smoke shop, so if you are buying this expecting us to supply pods as well, we cannot. What you are buying here is the hardware. Plenty of people already own pods and want a smaller or spare battery, and that is who this suits.
What it does well is temperature. PAX check the temperature 125 times a second, which is the same control that runs through their dry herb range, and the point of it is that the last third of a pod tastes like the first rather than turning harsh as it empties. Four settings are selectable with Pop-and-Click, so you press and choose rather than navigating anything.
Battery life is over 150 puffs per charge with an LED that warns you before it dies. PAX cover it with a one year limited warranty, which is shorter than the ten years on the PAX 3 and Plus, and normal for a device at this price.

Do you sell the pods for this?
No, and this is the thing to know before ordering. PAX Era pods are cannabis products sold through licensed cannabis retailers, which a smoke shop is not. The Era Life is the battery only. It works with any PAX Era pod, so it suits someone who already buys pods and wants a smaller or spare battery. If you have no way to get pods, this device will not do anything for you.
How is the Era Life different from the other PAX Era devices?
It is the compact one, a full 10mm shorter than the rest of the Era line, with an aluminium shell and a slim profile built for pocket carry. It keeps the four heat settings and PAX's temperature control while dropping size and price. Pod compatibility is unchanged, so it takes the same pods as the other Era devices.
My pod is not producing vapour. What should I check?
Start with the pod rather than the battery. Pods clog when the oil is cold or the airway has flooded, and a blocked pod behaves exactly like a dead device. Take the pod out, wipe the contacts at both ends with a dry cotton swab and refit it. Warming the pod in your hand for a minute helps thick oil move. If the LED responds but nothing draws, it is the pod, not the Era Life.
How do I change the heat setting?
Pop-and-Click. You press the device to cycle through four settings rather than working through a menu or an app. Lower settings favour flavour and use less of the pod per draw, higher settings give more vapour. There is nothing to pair and nothing to configure, which is most of the appeal of this device over the larger Era models.
How long does a charge last?
PAX rate it at more than 150 puffs per charge, and an LED indicator warns you before it runs out rather than leaving you to find out mid draw. Real numbers depend on which heat setting you use and how long your draws are, as with any pod device. Higher settings will pull that figure down noticeably.
