The Plus has always kept its dart in the mouthpiece. The V3 adds two more jobs to the same part: it is the carb cap and the splash guard as well, and pressing the tip extends the dart out to load with.
The chamber is coil-less ceramic, so your concentrate never touches the heating element directly. That is the reason these taste cleaner than a wrapped-coil pen, and the reason cleaning is less of a chore. Airholes around the chamber feed airflow, and a silicone grip keeps your fingers off the hot section.
It heats in about 12 seconds. Three settings show as blue, green and white, and sesh mode holds the heat for 12 continuous seconds on a double click, so you are not pressing the button through a draw.
Against the V2 it is the same thickness and slightly taller, with a matte alloy housing instead of the older metallic finish. Onyx or Pearl.

What does the 3-in-1 mouthpiece do?
It is three parts in one. It carries the dart, the extendable ceramic loading tool that pushes out when you press the tip, so you are not carrying a separate dab tool. It acts as the carb cap, controlling airflow over the chamber. And it works as a splash guard, keeping concentrate from reaching your mouth. The V2 had the dart, but the carb cap and splash guard are what the V3 added.
What is sesh mode?
Double click the button and the Plus holds heat for 12 continuous seconds instead of making you keep the button pressed. It is the difference between taking a relaxed draw and fighting the device. Regular hold-to-heat still works if you prefer short bursts.
How is the V3 different from the V2?
The mouthpiece gained the carb cap and splash guard, the body is slightly taller at the same thickness, and the housing changed from the older metallic finish to a matte alloy. The coil-less ceramic chamber, the three heat settings, sesh mode and the 520mAh battery all carry over. It is a refinement of the same pen rather than a redesign.
Is the battery 510 threaded?
Yes, the Plus uses a 510 battery, and the chamber screws onto it. That said, it is designed around Puffco's own chamber, and the mouthpiece and dart are matched to it, so treat it as a system rather than assuming any 510 cartridge will give you a sensible experience on it.
How do you clean the ceramic chamber, and what if it blocks?
Run sesh mode for a moment to soften what is in there, then swab the bowl out while it is still warm. That is far kinder to a ceramic chamber than scraping cold residue. If the draw is blocked rather than the chamber dirty, look at the 3-in-1 mouthpiece, since its dart and airway are where oil collects and sets. Soak the mouthpiece in isopropyl separately and dry it before refitting.
