A disposable vape comes filled with e-liquid and charged, ready to use straight out of the package. You vape it until the liquid runs out, then recycle it. Most of them now recharge over USB-C, so the battery lasts as long as the e-liquid does.
Puff count
The rough number of puffs before it is empty, anywhere from about 600 on a small one to 20,000 or more on a big tank. A higher count lasts longer and costs a little more up front. If you are not sure where to land, the 5,000 to 10,000 range is a comfortable middle.
Rechargeable or not
Almost everything we carry recharges over USB-C. It matters because on a non-rechargeable unit the battery can die before the liquid is gone, which wastes the rest. Rechargeable means you get every puff you paid for.
Coil
Mesh coils heat the liquid evenly, so the flavour stays consistent from the first puff to the last and the draw is smoother. Most newer devices use them.
Nicotine strength
Disposables almost always use salt nicotine, which is smoother to inhale at higher strengths. In Canada the legal cap is 20 mg/mL, so that is the strongest you will find here. Go lighter if you are cutting down.
Flavour

A disposable is the easiest way to start, or to keep one in a pocket for when you are out. Once you are going through a couple a week, a refillable pod system usually costs less over time and makes less waste. How do you recharge a disposable vape?
Plug a USB-C cable into the port on the bottom or side of the device. A small light comes on while it charges and turns off, or turns green, when it is full, usually within 30 to 60 minutes. Most rechargeable disposables do not include a cable, but any standard USB-C cable works. You are charging the battery, not refilling the e-liquid, so once the liquid is gone the device is done.
How long does a disposable vape last?
It depends on the puff count and how often you vape. As a rough guide, a 600-puff device lasts a light user two to three days, a 5,000-puff device about one to two weeks, and a 10,000-plus device a few weeks. Heavy use shortens that. The puff number on the box is an estimate from steady, even puffs, so real life usually comes in a little lower.
Do disposable vapes need to be charged?
Older ones do not, but most modern disposables are rechargeable and do need a top-up over USB-C before the e-liquid runs out. On a rechargeable model the battery would otherwise die before the liquid is finished, so charging lets you use all of it. If a device is not rechargeable, it is meant to be used until empty and then recycled.
How many puffs are in a disposable vape?
Anywhere from about 600 to over 20,000, depending on the model. Small, pocket-sized devices sit around 600 to 2,500 puffs, mid-size ones land in the 5,000 to 10,000 range, and large-tank devices reach 15,000 to 20,000 or more. The number is an estimate, so expect real-world use to be a little lower.
How do you dispose of an empty vape?
Do not put it in your household garbage or regular recycling, because it has a lithium battery inside. Take it to a battery or e-waste drop-off instead. In BC, electronics depots and programs like Call2Recycle accept them, and many vape shops, including ours, will take your empties. Run the device until it is fully dead first.
