G Pen

G Pen is a line of portable vaporizers made by Grenco Science, and it is one of the better-known names in the category. The range covers both dry herb and concentrates, from the pocket-sized Dash dry herb vaporizers to the Connect and Hyer, which turn a water pipe into a concentrate setup. G Pen is also known for its collaborations with Snoop Dogg, Mike Tyson and Cookies. So if someone mentions a G Pen, they usually mean one of these devices rather than a specific model.

Grind your dry herb and pack it into the chamber, not too tightly, then put the mouthpiece back on. Hold the button to turn it on and cycle through the three preset temperatures, give it a few seconds to heat, and draw slowly. Lower presets give more flavour and higher ones give thicker vapour. The Connect works with your own water pipe rather than on its own. You load concentrate into the tank, attach the glass adapter to your water pipe, click the tank onto the battery and power it on. Once it heats, you draw through the water pipe the way you would a dab. It uses three preset temperatures, and the battery can charge while you use it, so it does not need to sit idle. Keeping the dabs small helps it vaporize cleanly.

Let the device cool, then clear out any leftover residue. On the Dash, empty the chamber, brush out the loose bits and wipe the mouthpiece with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol. On the Connect or Hyer, wipe the tank and the glass with isopropyl once it is cool. Doing this regularly keeps the airflow open and the flavour clean, and on the concentrate devices it stops residue building up on the heating element.
