The Volcano is a desktop dry herb vaporizer made by Storz & Bickel. You load ground herb into the chamber, set a temperature, and hot air (convection) passes through it to release vapour without burning it. On the Classic and Hybrid the vapour fills a detachable balloon that you then inhale from at your own pace, and the Hybrid can also use a tube. It is built for even, consistent vapour that is easy to share.

The Classic is the original: a simple dial for heat, balloon-only delivery, and dry herb. The Hybrid adds a digital display with exact temperatures, both balloon and tube (whip) delivery, faster heat-up, Bluetooth app control, and support for concentrates as well as herb. The Classic 25th Anniversary Edition is the Classic in a commemorative finish. Pick the Classic for the proven, simple setup or the Hybrid for precise control and both delivery styles.

The Veazy is Storz & Bickel's most compact portable vaporizer, weighing about 134 g. It uses their hybrid convection and conduction heating, warms up in roughly 40 to 45 seconds, and offers three preset temperatures (356, 383 and 410°F), with Bluetooth app control for anything in between. It charges over USB-C and comes in four colours, making it the on-the-go option alongside the desktop Volcano.

Grind your herb and fill the chamber, then set the temperature and let it heat up. Fit the filling chamber on top, switch on the air, and the balloon fills with vapour. Once it is full, take the balloon off, fit the mouthpiece, and inhale at your own pace, refilling the balloon as needed. On the Hybrid you can also draw through the tube instead of using a balloon.

Take the cooling unit or filling chamber apart following the manual, soak the metal and plastic parts in isopropyl alcohol, then rinse and let them dry fully before reassembling. Storz & Bickel sell genuine seal ring sets, cooling units and wear-and-tear sets so you can replace the parts that see the most use. Cleaning regularly keeps the airflow and flavour consistent.

You are paying for German engineering, a heating system that vaporizes evenly without combusting, fully replaceable parts, and a manufacturer warranty measured in years. The devices are built to be serviced and kept rather than replaced, so the cost is spread over something that lasts. Genuine replacement parts are available, which is part of why owners hold onto them for a long time.

It comes down to preference. Lower temperatures, around 356 to 380°F, give lighter and more flavourful vapour, while higher settings up to around 410°F produce thicker, warmer draws. The Veazy's three presets sit in that range, and the Volcano Hybrid and Veazy let you set an exact temperature through the app. Starting lower and working up is the usual approach.
